24/7 job of keeping the Met's Marine Unit on the water

With 47 miles of the River Thames and 250 miles of inland waterways to patrol – keeping the Metropolitan Police's Marine Unit on the water – is a 24/7 job for the dedicated team of technicians and engineers tasked with servicing and repairing the fleet.

From their boatyard in Wapping, this morning on Crimewatch Roadshow, we're meeting Inspector Stuart Simpson and Workshop Manager James Coomes to find out more about their important work.
