Gabby Logan introduce news and results from the day's football fixtures up and down the land.  Plus reaction to all the big Premier League games.

Stuart's role as series director

As series director, I moved BBC One's football result magazine show 200 miles north from BBC Television Centre to MediaCityUK in Salford.

The move made for the perfect opportunity to refresh and reinvigorate the Saturday afternoon tradition – the previous incarnation was very static in style and I wanted to introduce more dynamism to help capture the excitement of the day's football action.

Format changes

I devised a shooting style that made the most of the new set and resources available to us (five cameras – four manned – including a jib).   Every goal at our featured games was revealed with a dramatic wide-shot push-in and a roar of the crowd sound effect.

"Kick-off" and "full-time" motivated a jib swoop across the studio with a lighting change and the sound of the referee's whistle being blown.

Kick-off on Final Score

With access to live feeds from every Premier League match, I was keen for the programme to make the most of this invaluable picture resource.

Final Score Chat

The "countdown to kick-off" sequence saw us box up every feed, so we could share with our audience the anticipation and excitement from each match in the tense minutes before kick-off.

Post match, I utilised the full-time scenes from each game to illustrate our pundits' analysis.
